Alphonse Karr Bamboo
Bambusa multiplex 'Alphonse Karr' is quick growing, has bright yellow with irregular, longitudinal, narrow green variable striping on its 1-1 ½” graceful culms with green foliage. New shoots and culms are often reddish. One of the most commonly used hedge bamboo cultivated around the world. This bamboo makes a fine choice to use if you’re looking to provide beautiful privacy for your yard as it can reach heights up to 20-25’’ tall.

Asian Lemon Bamboo
Bambusa Eutoldoides 'Viridivattata' is an eye catching, strong, thick-walled, yellow with green stripes bamboo. New yellow culms will have pink and peach tones with green stripes. In its native country, it is highly treasured as an ornamental plant for its beautiful coloration and stunning height. It’s now quickly gaining popularity with home owners for its versatility. Can be planted in a row on 3’ centers and trimmed to a stunning hedge. Growing up to 25’ tall with 1” dia. culms and is cold hardy.

Boniopsis Bamboo
Bambusa Boniopsis has a slightly small delicate appearance, yet dense and bushy. This bamboo grows up to 20’ tall with 1” culms that broadcast a small leaf pattern. Its beautiful deep green foliage has a silvery underside and moves delicately with the wind. Bonnie makes a great privacy screening where a shorter bamboo is required.

Dwarf Buddha Belly Bamboo
Bambusa Vulgaris 'Wamin' is one of the easiest bamboos to grow and requires little maintenance once established. This bamboo is compact and perfect as a large specimen piece for a homeowner or a business giving a classical tropical look.
With its bizarre swollen internodes (bellies), it quickly forms an open, straight clump and is also perfect for privacy. Dwarf Buddha Belly is slow growing for a bamboo, growing 2’-4’ a year before reaching a mature height of about 12’-15’ tall with up to 3” culms.

Bambusa textilis Mutabilis is one of the cleanest and neatest looking specimens with a very delicate-classic Asian appearance. It has persistent white powdery bloom at the long nodes with small leaves and graceful foliage. The canes are tall and straight with very few side shoots so they rarely need pruning. The space between the culm sections is usually long, which give this bamboo a striking appearance. Emerald grows 30’-37’ tall and has 1.5” dia. culms.

Fernleaf
Bamboo
Bambusa multiplex 'Fernleaf' is known for its dwarf size with slender, bright green, fern-like foliage. New shoots and young culms are red with green stripes and the red eventually changes to yellow culms when mature. It’s relatively easy to maintain. Did you know it’s also deer resistant? It produces many small canes that gently arch out and develop a dense canopy with a typical clearance of 3’ from the ground. The canes are 1/4” in diameter and are thickly spaced. Fernleaf is usually 8’–15’ tall.

Golden Goddess Bamboo
Golden Goddess bamboo has a well-mannered clumping form that can be maintained at under 8’ tall. It has slender golden culms and graceful arching stalks. It brings an extremely fine and delicate texture to places where an accent of soft structure is desired. A dwarf form of multiplex similar to Fernleaf, but with larger leaves only reaching about 15’-18’ in height with ½” diameter culms.

Graceful

Bambusa textilis Gracilis is one of our all-time favorite go-to for landscape designs due to its slim profile and elegant posture making it perfect for tight spaces. A beautiful, all-green bamboo with leaves pointing downwards, that’s often planted in rows to create a privacy hedge or screen. For this type of application, they are planted in a row 3’-5’ apart. Of course, spacing depends on how dense and how quickly you need your hedge. It also makes a delicate focal point when planted as a single specimen. Graceful grows 25’-30’ tall with about 1” dia. culms.

Ladyfinger

Bambusa textilis 'Richard Waldron' Ladyfinger Bamboo. This charming little green bamboo species has been determined to be a dwarf form of Bambusa textilis. Ladyfinger has a small delicate fountain of wispy canes and tiny leaves. We found it to be a slow grower getting up to 15' tall with up to 0.5 in. canes.
Ladyfinger bamboo is ideal for growing in pots due to the little growth each year brings.

RG Dwarf
Bamboo
Bambusa textilis Dwarf Graceful (RG) is highly sought after for planting a shorter privacy screen where height is a consideration, growing 15’-20’ tall with the standard textilis upright form and its culm diameter is about 1 ¼”. This bamboo has pretty canes that are characteristic of a textilis bamboo and should only be planted in climate zone 8 and above.

Tropical Blue

Bambusa Chungii is a rare Chinese import that gained U.S.D.A. clearance in the 1990’s; also called Emperor’s Blue Bamboo and White Bamboo. Mystically stunning, its thin-walled culms are covered in a white powder and appears blue when it matures. This fast-growing, slightly open clumper blue bamboo will grow up to 30’ tall with 2” diameter culms.
